My Life in a Nut Shell, Literally

Hey everyone! My name is Valerie (duh), I have lived my whole life in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and as much as I dislike it I will more than likely never move anywhere else. I spent my first semester of college in Wisconsin and I came back so fast! I have a love-hate relationship with Chicago. While it is super boring and there are no cool land marks, I love the changing seasons and I love the life I've built here. I love to travel, but there is just something about the Chicago area that I could never leave, maybe its just because I'm used to it. Anyway, I'm a animal lover, especially dogs. My dogs are my furry children and I have no idea what I would do without them! I can't go to pet adoptions without getting upset because I know my boyfriend would never let me take more dogs home!

I have a family dog named Talie, whom we've had for over a decade, and I have my baby boy Blitz (he's actually 4 years old, but still just a baby!) My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost three years and he's my best friend. We are currently looking to buy a house together, however the experience has been less than pleasurable! It was fun at first but we pretty much just got screwed out of a house we loved! But oh well, moving on...

I am currently in my last semester of my under grad and man is it dragging! I will be graduating with a human resource management degree and hope to do great things! I have many ideas for what I want to do with my life. I have so many business ideas I want to start! I currently work full time as a sales floor manager at Target. Since I have so much experience in retail I would love to eventually start my own boutique but will take a lot of planning that I currently don't have time for.

I'm a very busy person, I love it and I hate it. For the last two years of my degree I have been taking 18 credit hours in school and working either two part time jobs or a full time job. It has been a crazy stressful ride but so worth it since I will be graduating early! Its amazing what one can do when determined! So while finishing up my last semester I will be posting my thoughts, ideas, stories, and/or rants on my blog! I hope you enjoy reading them, and I'm excited to start this journey of online blogging. Hopefully I don't get too addicted!!

To wrap it up I just want to end with my favorite quote, it is the background on my laptop and it is a quote I try to live my life by:

"If we did all the things we were capable of doing we would literally astonish ourselves."

Thomas A. Edison
