Last But Not Least

Hello everyone! Today is technically day 17 and if you are following you would realized that I missed day 16 yesterday. And for that I apologize! I actually had a scarf put together and here it is.

As much as I hate to quit something, I feel bored of posting new ways to wear scarves and I'm sure you're bored of it as well! It was much harder than I thought and I truly feel the only ways left to wear scarves are weird ways that I would never try! And I don't want to promote something I wouldn't actually wear! So here is the last scarf, but certainly not the least. I will certainly not stop wearing scarves, I really do wear them everyday!

So here I talked about the first really snow fall of the year, and today it has been crazy rain storms and tornado watches and warning!! What season are we in?

Its raining really hard! Also, the sky turned yellowish! Wee bit scary! To say the least, Talie is very freaked out by the hail, thunder and rain. Hopefully it clears up so I can get a run in tonight!

Bottom line is I'm sorry to anyone who was looking for the full 30 days! But I will continue to post about fashion, not only what I am wearing but what others are wearing. And of course other things on the side. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

DAY 15: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

Congratulations everyone we are officially half way through the month!! And let me tell you I don't know if I have 15 more scarves!

So today has been a really weird day... Not sure how else to explain it but at least it's ending with me going to bed early! (Unfortunately I also have to be up early) Also, the wifi on my iPad is not currently working so I am blogging from my phone! So I apologize in advance if the format looks weird on your computer/tablet.

Here is my scarf for today. Nice and cozy wrapped around my neck twice and then tied to stay in place. Also if you have been following my other posts you'll know I burned my forehead with my curling iron therefore I will not take pictures if my face until it's healed! Ha vain, I know but still it's embarrassing!

I promise when I graduate in less than a month I will have better/longer posts, but for now I have to get some sleep. I have a busy weekend ahead of me! (And not as in plans, busy as in work and homework). Hope you all had a great Friday and are looking forward to a great weekend. See you tomorrow for Day 16!

DAY 12: 30 Scarf Challenge

So it is finally feeling like the holidays are here since it snowed yesterday! The snow was beautiful! It only stuck to the grass and there isn't enough to make it a hassle so it was perfect.

Typical Husky admiring the snow.

As I was sitting at home drinking some coffee this is the amazing view I had.

Today is the first day of the season where I am actually wearing my Ugg boots! Well, knock off Ugg boots (I don't make that kind of money!). It was very exciting. In previous years I had worn my boots since the first sign of fall. But I found by the time New Year's is over I'm sick of wearing them, so I decided to hold off this year until snow was actually on the ground.

 photo 603ed04a-1a07-401e-9fef-a41cbffe0326_zps27d4e269.jpg

And here is my scarf! I'm completely in love with this scarf. It is so warm and so so soft. Today I wrapped it around my neck twice instead of once to keep my neck warm.

On a side note, I wanted to share this with you...

I laughed out loud when I saw this today, I had to go back and take a picture! I'm sure every one knows about No-Shave-November (aka Movember ha!) I saw a post on Facebook yesterday about some men not being able to grow mustaches and I thought this was such a great solution. So there are only three left, but let me know and I'll grab you one! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

DAY 11: 30 Day Challenge

Hello everyone! I am blogging from the quiet study room at my school and let me tell you, people must have not read the sign on the door. Usually this is the quietest place to get some work done and these two guys first were standing in the hallway talking while holding the door open. Then when they walked in one asked me, "Do you have a class in here?" to which I responded, "No, they don't hold classes in here, it's a quiet study room." He turns to his friend and says, "Its a quiet study room should we go somewhere else so we don't disturb her?" I did not here his reply if there was one but they proceeded to sit down and talk in hushed tones which are not actually quiet at all. They should take whispering lessons from the couple at Starbucks yesterday.

Anyway, here is my Day 11 Scarf...

I heard on the radio that the new danger is people taking "selfies" while driving. I decided to join that trend (**Disclaimer: the car is not actually in motion, I am stopped. Putting yourself and others in danger to take a picture of yourself is honestly so stupid)

This is another infinity scarf just a new way of wearing it! (Thank you Natalie for sending me that link!) The problem I always found with most infinity scarves is that if you wrap it around your neck twice, it might be too loose to cover you neck, and I'm not sure about you but I have a big head so they're no way I'm going to get an infinity scarf around my head three times. So if you shorten one of the loops like I did here, it covers you neck and looks super cute!!

Have a wonderful Monday if that is at all possible for you! (Monday can get rough, I know.)

DAY 10: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

First of all sorry for this blog being so late in the day, I seem to be getting better and better at procrastination! Second of all, I want to apologize for any typos in advance, I had a large glass of wine because the bottle is going to go bad soon and better to drink than waste! Am I right or am I right? (Plus I don't have to be anywhere until 1pm tomorrow)

First of all I want to show off my boyfriend a little bit. Here he is with his scarf. Isn't he cute?

 photo IMG_0536_zps3d8f936b.jpg

He refused to actually stop to let me take a picture of him so I just became his paparazzi. These are just the best of multiple pictures I took.

 photo IMG_0537_zps6e9338ae.jpg
So Stubborn!

His scarf is actually made by Crystal! Check out everything she's crocheted! She's really good.

So in between catching photos of Nick we first visited my Uncle Ed! He is having open brain surgery on Thursday so for those believers out there please pray for hi and for those non believers please send good juju his way!! So we went to visit him in the hospital and he seemed very energetic! I think he is very bored siting in the hospital just waiting for Thursday to come. (Which reminds me Dad if you are reading this he said the surgery should be around 10am on Thursday)! The first thing he said when Nick and I walked in was "You wouldn't believe that I am having open brain surgery on Thursday!" As he is standing there in gym shoes, jeans, hospital gown, and sweatshirt. In which I replied "Well you look much better than anyone in this hospital!" let me tell you, this man works out more often than I do! Plus when we were walking to his room, we hear men groaning ans yelling through their pain, it was terrifying. My Uncle Ed seems pretty confident but please keep him in your thoughts!

Then Nick and I went to Heng Wing and had some Chinese food! (We were starving)

 photo IMG_0546_zps2e9ce42b.jpg
Here is Nick's Dish.

 photo IMG_0545_zps2e946ae8.jpg
And here is my dish before I dropped some into his tea (which is to the right of the dish). I'm very sorry Nick.

We had so much fun joking around and just simply hanging out at the Chinese restaurant while we were eating. It was such a great day!

 photo d878539a-a21f-4b3a-bcb5-22847ea967fb_zps44e58d02.jpg
This is Nick's yearly fortune (is that what their called?). We both agree that the only part that is correct about him is the "you are successful in business but would also make a good lawyer, diplomat or actor."

 photo d9d9c9b8-1a02-4fae-aadc-390b8405552a_zps8cf3ad47.jpg
This is me. I personally think it is all true about me but Nick disagrees ha!

 photo 85878dd2-13af-47b2-acda-282ff61a3703_zps5dedd112.jpg

And of course the reason you all are here: Scarf Day 10! Here I tied my scarf just like I did here except when I put it around my neck I put it backwards. I love this scarf and sweater duo! I didn't even need a jacket today.

Such a great day and weekend! I am so thankful! See you tomorrow for Day 11. Maybe I won't post it so late this time!

DAY 9: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

 photo f8ae0416-5bf4-42a6-9f23-ac30133f43f5_zpsab7f73ae.jpg

Hello everyone! Today is Day 9 of the 30 Day Scarf challenge! Here I am with my mom. I figured I would take a picture with her today since we were both wearing scarves. The scarf I am wearing today I one I got over spring break last year while my boyfriend and I were in San Francisco. This picture doesn't do it justice because it is much brighter in person!

Here I am with Nick on spring break when I first got this scarf! (This picture shows the color better.) Here's how I got this look. I just love this scarf! It's really comfortable and thick so its super warm. I actually had to take it off today when my family was over because it was getting too warm! This is probably my favorite scarf of all time! Join my tomorrow for Day 10! (I feel like I'm running out of ideas, so feel free to send me your own ways of wearing a scarf!) Have a relaxing rest of the night!

DAY 8: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

Today's post is going up later than usual, I had a very busy day!

 photo IMG_0488_zps43dab28e.jpg

First I walked the pups, and I didn't want to go back inside because it was so beautiful out so I decided to rake the leaves! (it was actually a lot more than that it should be).

 photo IMG_0490_zps4c5933d0.jpg

It was quiet the work out!

 photo 4bfe51d8-8e77-4a71-a5d7-e032b6f4607c_zpsa67343e3.jpg

Talie had to watch from the window since she kept sneaking away when she was outside with me! Little sneak!

 photo IMG_0496_zps5c830133.jpg

Then I painted this, I was feeling inspired! Once it dries look for it on my Etsy page!

 photo IMG_0495_zps890a50b7.jpg

Had to take a picture if the sunset through the trees!

And here is my scarf for Day 8! (Has it only been 8 days?!) I'm wearing a simple black scarf with my new favorite sweater! So comfortable and warm!

DAY 7: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

So today I'm in sort of a blah mood. I'm just exhausted by the week, but I'm excited that I have a 3 day weekend! This will probably be my last 3 day weekend until after the holidays so I have to make the most of it! I can't wait to spend time with my boyfriend and my family and just relax! Now that I think about it maybe I should schedule a massage, these next couples weeks are going to be busy and stressful! But its all worth it! Work now, play later, right? So here is my lazy day scarf.

 photo c7b94aa1-944e-4751-8320-8b3020f8068c_zpsb96e8eca.jpg

My cousin Natalie made this for me and its super comfortable!! It's seriously like a sweatshirt. Not only is this scarf perfect for lounging around the house and relaxing, but it is perfect for those cold nights! If I go out tonight I'm definitely wearing this since it'll be really warm with my winter jacket.

Doesn't get more comfortable than this! Starting off my 3 day weekend with the right scarf! :) Be sure to follow my blog! Join me tomorrow for Day 8! Stay warm everyone!

DAY 6: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

Hello everyone! Here is my scarf for Day 6.

Don't you love my new phone case??

This is what I was wearing today after work before I passed out on the couch because I'm not feeling well today! Lately, I feel like I'm stretching myself too thin. I just need to keep reminding myself 2 more weeks of classes, a week off for Thanksgiving, finals week, and then graduation! If only I could get over this cold which is doubled with allergies today. Is it bad that I want it to snow so my seasonal allergies will go away? Anyway, enough complaining on my end! Here is my scarf, since I didn't want to cover up my necklace today I chose to go with a smaller, lighter scarf. It is much thinner than most of the scarves I own as shown below.

All I did to get this look was tie the ends. But instead of tying the corners like I did for Day 1 and Day 3 I tied the entire ends into a knot.

Then wrapped it around my neck twice. Feel free to scarf your favorite scarf! You can contact me by commenting below or emailing me at CoffeeAndCourture@outlook.com.
I hope you are having a great Wednesday!

DAY 4: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

Today is Day 4 of the 30 Day Scarf Challenge!

 photo 17cd93fe-6f37-4269-b0bb-8196c2bf773f_zps2862e192.jpg

Thank you Lauren for taking this picture!

So let me first start off with explaining why I renamed my blog from "My Life in a Nutshell" to "Coffee and Couture" since there were some people with many questions about it (you know who you are :-P ). I want my blog to be more fashion oriented (hence the "couture") and I love coffee (I drink it like its water). So that's that! I tried to make it as original as possible but as me as possible, and I feel like I nailed it! Anyway, my scarf! This is an infinity scarf that my mom crochet for me a couple years ago. I absolutely love the colors and the fact that it only goes around your neck once. Its also super warm! With out this scarf today I would have been freezing so I'm glad I brought it along. (It also matches my coffee cup which I chose to include in this picture for the sake of my blog name!)

 photo 097ed9b2-ba8a-4f5a-a9d2-33a87935f0ee_zpsa2493950.jpg

This scarf literally covers your entire neck with only wrapping it around your neck once. Gotta love the simplicity!
Hope you have a magnificent Monday! Please follow my blog! See you tomorrow for Day 5.

DAY 3: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

Today is Day 3 of my 30 Day Scarf Challenge!

 photo afa3ab79-f64b-4dd5-a0d2-f66bec06c8ad_zpsfc15dfd1.jpg

This is a scarf I don't wear often because it is hard to find anything to match it. However, after a little digging through my closet I found an outfit I was finally happy with! Also today this scarf was very useful because it covered up the fact that my shirt was probably too low cut for church! You would never know with this scarf! This scarf is also smaller than almost all of the scarfs I own. So this is how I got this look...

 photo dc09e8fb-1afc-48fc-a7a9-4529b3d7864e_zps537e32e7.jpg

This scarf, unlike my others, is a perfect square. It can be a little tricky to make it look good, since if you just wrap it around your neck it would look too short.

 photo a5a96143-7735-46a1-94a3-6054d1827094_zps3292a8bf.jpg

I fold it into a triangle.

 photo b0361694-8a1d-421a-a87e-0c6371747e9b_zps87c26208.jpg

Then tie the ends. Notice, as opposed to how I tied the scarf on Day 1 of the challenge, the knot it is not at the ends of the corners. You can adjust where you tie the knot depending on how you want the scarf to hang.

 photo 410aada0-eb5b-4944-ab03-52c3d14d023c_zpsf0114e93.jpg

And then just place it around your neck and there you go!

DAY 2: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

Hello everyone! Today is Day 2 of my 30 Day Scarf Challenge!

This is an infinity scarf. I absolutely love this scarf because it literally goes with everything. It's a really nice off white so it still works for fall. This scarf is good for keeping you warm or looking stylish. It also has a great texture to it so it doesn't look boring. The best thing about infinity scarves is that unlike yesterday you don't have to tie them, just wrap it around your neck twice and you're good to go! Quick and easy.

Stop by tomorrow for Day 3 of the 30 Day Scarf Challenge. Be sure to follow my blog! Have a beautiful Saturday!

DAY 1: 30 Day Scarf Challenge

Hello and welcome to my 30 Day Scarf Challenge! The scarf is the most important part of a fall outfit and I will give you 30 reasons why this month. To quote Natalie,"You don't need a bunch of clothes if you have enough scarves to dress up any outfit!"

The scarf I chose for Day 1 of my 30 Day Scarf Challenge is one that I have bought most recently. It is something I wouldn't normally buy because it has skulls on it and I've never been into skulls, however you can't see the skulls when its draped around your neck! The colors are just perfect for most things that I wear. This is me just arriving to work. I'm wearing my navy North Face which brings out the navy in the scarf. Instead of wearing this scarf the traditional way of just wrapping it around your neck, I choose to mix it up a little.

Can you even tell there are skulls?

This is how I did this look.

First, I tied the opposite corners of the scarf in a knot.

Hang it around your neck like a giant necklace.

Take the bottom of the scarf and cross it over to make an 8.

Then take the bottom loop of the 8 and flip it over your head and voila!

Please leave any comments or questions below! Be sure to enter your email to follow my blog! Check in tomorrow to see Day 2 of my 30 Day Scarf Challenge.
